In a manner of forthright reaction, having regard to the seemingly pragmatic importance, calling them 'tips' is likely to under-emphasis/decelerate the force behind the need for imbibing and following. Perhaps, it will be more appropriate to regard them as TWELVE COMMANDMENTS, in the profound sense.
